The first IND vs WI test took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The first of the two-match test series between Indian Cricket Team and West Indies Cricket Team concluded on Saturday, October 4. India defeated West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the encounter, which took place at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Earlier in the game, the West Indies skipper Roston Chase won the toss and opted to bat first. However, their batters completely struggled against Indian bowlers in the first innings, getting bowled out for 162 runs. Justin Greaves top scored with 32 runs as none of the batters could hit a fifty. For the hosts, Mohammed Siraj clinched four wickets while Jasprit Bumrah grabbed three wickets to demolish the opposition.

Later, KL Rahul (100) hammered a century for India, providing a brilliant start to the batting. Skipper Shubman Gill added 50 runs. Later, Dhruv Jurel (125) and Ravindra Jadeja (104*) smacked tons to drive the team total to 448/5 before India declared the innings prior to start on day 3.

Leading by 286 runs after the first innings, India gained a dominating position in the match. With a four-wicket haul by Jadeja, India wrapped up the visitors’ innings for 146 runs to win the encounter by a big margin of an innings and 140 runs. With a victory, India lead the two-match series 1-0. Both sides will now clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in the second test from October 10.

Dhruv Jurel, who scored a century in the match, is the leading run-scorer of the IND vs WI test series with 125 runs. Ravindra Jadeja (104) and KL Rahul (100), who also slammed tons in the clash, follow him next. Justin Greaves (57) grabs the fourth spot. Shubman Gill and Alick Athanaze are next with 50 runs each.
