The result of the last fixture between the two sides was not in favour of the Blue Colts. They last met in 2018, and Pakistan had the last laugh in that game as they registered a 2-1 win.

Pakistan are flying high in the SAFF U17 Championship 2025 with consecutive victories in style. The former champions have not been tested yet. They cruised in the tournament opener against Bhutan. The 4-0 victory in the first match gave Pakistan the start they would have wished for.

They backed that performance with another splendid outing against Maldives. Pakistan could not keep a clean sheet but in return smashed goals to register a 5-2 win. They have already qualified for the knockouts, but they cannot afford to let India gain ground in the last group stage game. This is arguably the best opportunity for Pakistan to edge their arch-rivals.
