Mohun Bagan Super Giant (pronounced Mohan Bag-an), also referred to as Mohun Bagan SG, is a professional football club located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Since the 2020-21 season, the club has been participating in the Indian Super League (ISL), which is the highest tier of football in India. Originally established as ATK Mohun Bagan FC in July 2020, the club came into existence through a merger between ATK and the football division of Mohun Bagan AC. However, due to protests by the fans of Mohun Bagan AC, the club underwent a rebranding on June 1, 2023, and became known as Mohun Bagan SG . The primary owner of Mohun Bagan SG is a consortium led by Sanjiv Goenka, called Kolkata Games & Sports, with Mohun Bagan AC serving as a co-owner. A fierce rivalry, known as the Boro Match, exists between Mohun Bagan SG and their long-standing city rival, East Bengal . The inaugural derby match between the two clubs took place on August 8, 1921.
