In a recent FIFA video, the fans have learnt about mascots for the 2026 World Cup and the cameo of the silhouettes and names of the three characters set to symbolise the tournament:

- Zayu: a forward representing Mexico.
- Clutch: a midfielder embodying the United States.
- Maple: a unique goalkeeper tied to Canada.
Since the revelation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup mascots, the fans have been buzzing on social media and are looking forward to witnessing how it unfolds during the competition.
Meanwhile, each mascot will represent its respective nation as well as culture, passion, and national identity. The three host nations will stage the sport’s biggest event next year.
Meanwhile, the 2026 World Cup will see 48 nations, unlike the usual 36 teams. The games are spread across 16 cities in North America. Besides, the competition’s format, Zayu, Clutch and Maple will add further excitement, including cultural and emotional feelings towards the competition.
As the number of days reduces for the tournament, the mascots will begin their promotion, fan event, interacting with the supporters and merchandising, making the first-ever three-nation World Cup memorable.
To bring more entertainment to the sport, mascots have been part of football history since 1996. The first mascot introduced was Willie the Lion in England.
Following that, each edition has continued with a mascot, such as fruit-inspired designs like Naranjito (Spain 1982) to playful creatures like Fuleco the Armadillo (Brazil 2014).
