The English full-back is ruled out for a long period of time.
After sustaining a knee injury during Sunday’s loss to Arsenal, Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento is expected to miss six to eight weeks of action.
The full-back will miss England’s October matches against Wales on October 9 and Latvia on October 14, as well as November World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania next month.
During his team’s 2-1 loss against Arsenal at St. James’ Park, Tino Livramento landed awkwardly and had to be carried off the field.
Howe reveals how long Tino Livramento will be sidelined with injury
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe described it as “really distressing” to watch the 22-year-old, who previously sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury when playing for Southampton in 2022, being carried off.
“Tino, we think, will be out roughly around six to eight weeks, which is probably positive from where we were after the game, thinking it might be months. We’re probably looking, not this international break, but maybe the next one, he could be back. So certainly, more positive than we initially thought.”
Although it is believed that the injury is not as serious as initially thought, Newcastle are therefore lacking at left-back, where Tino Livramento has played the majority of this season.
Dan Burn plays for Newcastle as a left-back.. Lewis Hall, who was too tired to play against Arsenal, is another option.
After recovering from a foot injury, Hall started both of last month’s games against Bradford City and Bournemouth. Howe has had to rotate his team this season while battling on several fronts.
However, the fact that Livramento has been near an ever-present is very instructive. In actuality, over the first few weeks of the season, no other player has played more minutes for Newcastle (646) than him.
Yoane Wissa & Jacob Ramsey update
On Yoane Wissa… ‘He’s receiving treatment, no operation needed. I think we’re looking at the other side of the international break. We hope he can be fit and available for that first game… Touch wood, it’s not a long-term injury. We get through the next few games and then he’ll be back.’
On Jacob Ramsey… ‘He is on the grass, working hard, building his fitness. The plan, I think, was it would be the first game after the international break. If it’s any earlier than that, then of course he’s ahead of schedule.’
Which injury has Livramento suffered?
He has suffered a knee injury.
How long will Tino Livramento be out?
He will be out of action until the November international break.
Who can replace Tino Livramento?
Dan Burn, Lewis Hall and Trippier are other alternative options.
